The terms for using this website. The terms for buying a puppy are in the purchase agreement, which is a separate document and the one that governs a sale.
Acceptance
By using northerngreatdanehome.com you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. These terms do not affect your statutory rights.
Information on this site
We work hard to keep this site accurate, particularly puppy availability, prices and health information. Even so:
- Availability changes quickly. A puppy shown as available may be reserved between your reading the page and contacting us. We update within a day but we cannot promise same-minute accuracy.
- Prices are current at the time of publication and are confirmed in writing before any payment. A price shown here is not a binding offer.
- Projected adult size is an estimate based on the parents and the puppy's own growth curve. It is not a guarantee, and Great Danes vary considerably.
- Photographs are of the actual puppy named and are taken within the current week. Colour reproduction varies by screen.
- Litter dates and pickup dates may move if a puppy is not ready. We will not release a puppy to a schedule.

The care guides on this site — including the pages on bloat, feeding, growth, vaccinations and training — are general educational information drawn from our experience and from published veterinary guidance. They are not a substitute for advice from a licensed veterinarian who has examined your dog.
If you think your dog is unwell, and particularly if you suspect bloat, contact a veterinarian immediately rather than reading a web page.
Enquiries and reservations
- Submitting an enquiry, an application or a newsletter sign-up creates no contract and no obligation on either side.
- We reserve the right to decline any application, and we will tell you why. Common reasons are lifestyle mismatch, insufficient time at home, or a household better suited to a different breed.
- A puppy is reserved only when a deposit has been received and acknowledged by us in writing. Nothing is held on a verbal promise or an unpaid intention.
- We do not operate a first-come-first-served list. We place puppies in the homes we judge to be the best fit, and we will say so plainly if that is not yours.
- There is never a fee to be on a waiting list.
The sale itself
The sale of a puppy is governed by the purchase agreement, which both parties sign, together with the health guarantee and the return & refund policy. Where anything on this website conflicts with the signed agreement, the signed agreement governs.
We place puppies in United States & Canada only. We do not export, and we do not ship animals in cargo under any circumstances.
Fraud and impersonation
Puppy sales attract fraud, and breeder websites are regularly copied. Please protect yourself:
- Our only website is northerngreatdanehome.com. Our only phone number is +1 (619) 781-6400. Our only email domain is northerngreatdanehome.com.
- We will never ask for payment by gift card, cryptocurrency, Western Union, or a wire to a personal account. Anyone doing so is not us.
- We will never ask for a deposit before we have spoken to you on the phone.
- We will never pressure you to decide today, or tell you another buyer is about to take the puppy. That is a sales tactic and we do not use it.
- We will always let you video-call to see the puppy live before any money changes hands.
If something feels wrong, stop and call +1 (619) 781-6400 directly using the number on this page rather than one given to you in an email. We would much rather take the call.
Photographs and copyright
All photographs, text and design on this site are our own work and are protected by copyright. You may not reproduce them on another breeder, broker or listing website. Our photographs show up on scam sites regularly; if you see one, please tell us.
Families who buy a puppy from us are welcome to use the photographs of their own dog however they like.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this website. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Our obligations in relation to a puppy we have bred and sold are set out in the purchase agreement and health guarantee, and those documents — not this page — define what we owe you.
Links to other sites
We occasionally link to veterinary and breed organisations. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any dispute will first be taken up directly in good faith, then through mediation, before any other step.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
